Honors College faculty can inspire students both inside and outside the classroom. In addition to teaching, faculty members can encourage students to broaden their education through study abroad, service learning and research. Study abroad opens students’ minds to new ideas, new perspectives, new cultures and new teaching styles while providing a global maturity that can’t be learned in a US classroom. Service learning gives students a hands-on experience and allows them to contribute to their community, and participation in research promotes discovery and creativity, whether in the arts, humanities, sciences, business, or engineering.
