Mentor Grant Information

Congratulations — your student got the grant! Here are the important next steps:

Step 1


Your student must complete and submit the Research Grant RSVP form within 2 weeks of being notified of their award. 

Step 2

Await Approval:

The Honors College will send your student’s project to the Office of Research Compliance to confirm that all federal, state and university policies have been met.

Step 3

Get Your Grant Funds:

Once approved, your mentor stipend will be deposited in your cost center in BASIS, and you will be notified by email.

Step 4


Funds must be spent on undergraduate research-related expenses, such as travel to a conference, reference materials, or supplies.

Step 5

Document your Expenses:

Submit expense justification to your departmental BASIS representative.

Step 6

Approval Process:

Your expense justification will be reviewed through the chain of BASIS approvers, including the U of A Foundation. You will be contacted if there are any questions.
