Honors College Study Abroad Grants

Through a generous gift from the Walton Foundation, the Honors College is able to offer up to 40 supplemental grants for study abroad. These grants are competitive. Students will be selected on the basis of academic accomplishments with consideration given to the remaining financial need for the study abroad experience. Awards will vary based on that need.

Requirements

Students must be active participants in the Honors College at the time of application and award. Competitive students generally have a 3.5 or higher and have taken a minimum of six hours of honors credit prior to application.

Students who are planning to study in a non-English speaking country are encouraged to complete the second semester of intermediate study (i.e. CHIN 2013, FREN 2013, GERM 2013, ITAL 2013, JAPN 2013, SPAN 2003, etc.) or the equivalent of the target country if availability of courses permits.

To receive funding, successful applicants must be regularly enrolled in a full-time course of study throughout the grant period. Students who do not participate in the study abroad program they applied for will not receive funding unless the change in study abroad program is approved by the Honors College prior to the change.
