Leadership Lessons Learned

Interested? Applications are due to join the course. The priority deadline is April 15.
Students must be of at least junior standing with a preference given to seniors. Students must have completed at least one internship or significant work experience will be given preference.
This course is a unique opportunity to learn from business leaders who have experienced the ups and downs of leadership. Throughout the course, these leaders will share their experiences and offer their own leadership lessons learned. Each module will feature a business leader at different stages of their journey. Executive Vice Chancellor Bordelon and Dean Williams will facilitate these conversations, drawing out insights that you can use in your own leadership journey. After completing this course, you can put the leadership lessons learned to work in your own leadership journey, accelerating your career and the positive impact you have on those you will lead.
About Ann Bordelon:
Ann Bordelon serves as the Executive Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration.
She is a seasoned finance executive with experience ranging from the world's largest
company to regional entrepreneurial ventures. Bordelon was originally appointed as
vice chancellor for finance and administration on July 1, 2020. A native of Arkansas,
Bordelon has spent the majority of her career with Walmart and Ernst & Young. During
her nearly 13-year tenure at Walmart, Bordelon served in various executive finance
roles including chief financial officer of Sam's Club, chief financial officer of
Walmart Asia, and global chief audit executive. Following her retirement from Walmart,
Bordelon worked with a start-up company in the medical diagnostic space and then as
the chief financial officer of Mitchell Communications. She also serves on the board
of America's Car-Mart (NASDAQ: CRMT), Portillo’s (NASDAQ: PTLO) and the Ozark Foundation.
Bordelon is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and
the National Association of Corporate Directors. Bordelon earned a B.S.B.A. in accounting
and information systems from the University of Arkansas and is a certified public
accountant.
About Brent D. Williams:
Brent D. Williams serves as the Dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the
University of Arkansas and holder of the Sam M. Walton Leadership Chair. With a deep
commitment to fostering excellence in business education and thought leadership, Dr.
Williams brings a wealth of experience to his role, shaping the future of the college
and its impact on students and the business community.
A native Arkansan, Williams earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from the
University of Arkansas, specializing in supply chain management. Before assuming the
deanship, Williams held key leadership roles at Walton College, including Senior Associate
Dean, Associate Dean for Executive Education and Outreach and Chair of the Department
of Supply Chain Management. Through these roles, he spearheaded initiatives that enhanced
the college's reputation for innovation and industry engagement
