Research Grants

Students working together in McMillon Innovation Lab

At the Honors College, we recognize that in-depth research requires resources – and that students generally need some help in the cold hard cash department. Honors College students have used our research grants to map sites in Pompeii, study Costa Rican cloud forests, and help develop new biofuels. The application process is competitive but the funding is worth the effort - and the grants are a nice plus for your resume. Current students, for information on eligibility, deadlines and the application, visit the Honors Student Hub (log in using your uark.edu credentials).

We offer four types of research grants to help you get the work done:

In addition to the Honors College grants, you can also apply for a SURF Grant, facilitated through the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards.

Sydney Buford

I traveled to Baltimore, MD, to present my research at the 2023 International Textile and Apparel Association Annual Conference (ITAA). This conference consisted mostly of professors and graduate students so it was a very special experience to get to participate as an undergraduate student.
